Everyday Beauty Tools

I love to try new beauty products, especially organic and natural produc
ts. Everything from shampoo and lotion to makeup. I recently just purchased Organix Moroccan Oil shampoo and conditioner. After only one wash, my hair felt softer and healthier than it ever has! I have naturally straight hair so I don't use straighteners but my hair was still dry. The fact that this product made my hair softer in just one wash was awesome! An added bonus? It smells wonderful!

Here are a few more of my favorite beauty products. While they may not all be natural products, they're all still great in my book!

Stella & Dot

One of my favorite places to purchase jewelry and accessories is Stella & Dot. They have everything from earrings and necklaces to jewelry organizers, tote bags and scarves! I recently purchased their Carobella Hoops and Palm Springs Scarf. The scarf is light enough to wear during the warm summer evenings here in Virginia, but is so large that it will also be warm enough for the cool fall nights. The earrings are light weight and great when you need to add a little something extra to an outfit.

Recently, I've been thinking about becoming a stylist for Stella & Dot. You pay a small fee to join, but get hundreds in free samples and coaching material. Plus, with qualifying trunk shows, you can earn even more free items! Obviously, you don't make thousands over night. You have to work hard in order to make a profit, but with the right attitude and perseverance it shouldn't be too difficult!

Wine & Dine

This past weekend went by far too quickly! I had to work for most of the day of Saturday, so I really only Sunday off and of course I spent the whole day traveling and hanging out with friends!

My best friend Catherine lives in Charlottesville, VA so I thought it would be perfect to pay a little visit to her yesterday. We joined a few of her friends for brunch at The Nook in the Downtown Mall. The Nook is delicious, southern style food with very large portions for a great price. I recommend the Basil and Tomato Omelet - delicious! Afterwards we went wine tasting at Blenheim Vineyards and Trump Winery. We've been to both of these places before, but the wine is so delicious and the atmosphere is fantastic so we had to go back! (I recommend the Chardonnay at Trump Winery - it is so light and refreshing on a hot summer day!). Later I traveled back home and made a delicious pasta dinner with my boyfriend and had a very relaxing evening. It was a wonderful way to end my weekend and a great start to the new work week!

Let's Get Nauti(cal)

To me, summer means warm ocean breezes, salt water in your hair and sand between your toes. Oh, and one more thing - anything nautical! For the longest time I couldn't understand why I was so drawn to the nautical theme. Then one day it hit me - my parents used to be in the US Navy. I took a look around our basement and realized almost everything has something to do with the Navy or the ocean. One day, I hope to own a beach house so I can decorate it to the nines with nautical decor. For now, I can only pine over everything I see on websites such as J.CrewOne Kings Lane and Pottery Barn.

Life Lately

Work has been crazy the past few weeks, but luckily the last three days were pretty slow. In the midst of everything, I was delighted to have a mini-getaway to the beach for my cousin's wedding. I was more delighted when I returned that I only had to work three days after having a four day weekend to catch my breath. I've been able to run errands, relax, and do one of my favorite things...shop! Here are a few pictures of what I've been up to and a few items I've purchased over the past few days.

Celebrating America

It's July 4th! My plans for today include a lovely breakfast at a local downtown market, followed by a day of fun with friends and a cookout later this evening. How are you celebrating America's independence? Cookout? Fireworks? Baseball Game?

To most, it seems like July 4th has just become an excuse to have a paid day off from work and get rowdy. And while that may be a perk, it's also about celebrating our freedom and being grateful for everything we are given. As I leave you, I hope you enjoy your holiday weekend, be safe and remember what we are truly celebrating.

Mint To Be

         “Mint To Be"

Mint has been every where since this past spring. Whether it be jewelry, clothing or home accessories, it seems like you can never go wrong with mint! I purchased a pair of mint skinny jeans from J. Crew in April and they have been a staple in my wardrobe every since. Above are some other examples of mint done right!
